Am I Too Old for Pilates?

It’s never too late to get into Pilates. At Gosforth Physio, we are big proponents of the idea that there is no standard attendee of our Newcastle Pilates classes. Our physiotherapists make it patently clear that people of all ages are welcome in our studio sessions and will receive personalised directions. That means we won’t expect the same level of output as though we are all at the same life stages – it also translates into you receiving physio-led tuition tailored to your individual ability.

Posture plays a huge part in our lives, with Tiktok trends emphasising our tendency to let our posture slope forwards to comedic effect. The reality of having poor posture for prolonged periods is less rosy however, as it can lead to serious health problems in later life. Even the existence of persistent pains and aches is a good enough reason to take up the vastly beneficial and overall enjoyable practice of Pilates. Another cornerstone of our philosophy at Gosforth Physio & Wellness is that you shouldn’t ignore pain when our expertly taught classes give you so much to gain.

Confidence can often be an issue when you are trying something new. If you have anxiety or time commitments that make regularly attending our Newcastle Pilates classes impractical, you can always join our online classes instead. We only hire Senior physiotherapists because we want the classes to reap quantifiable benefits for attendees, and we provide as much bespoke care as we can for the same reason.

Pilates improves your quality of life. You will benefit from increased stamina when undergoing physical exertion, improve your posture, learn to breathe correctly and so much more. Your personal goals are discussed with your Pilates instructor who is there to help you make the most out of these classes.

If you would like to enquire about our booking a session with our Newcastle Physiotherapists, or if you have any other questions, please contact us today.
